The first NDC submission of Zimbabwe contributes the most to SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (26%) and SDG 2 'No Hunger' (23%). For SDG 7 the highest contributions relate to Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (65%) and Target '7.3 Double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency' (29%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Hydropower' (23%) and 'Energy efficiency' (18%). For SDG 2 the highest contributions relate to Target '2.4 Ensure sustainable agricultural practices for reselience and resource protection' (79%) and Target '2.5 Maintain genetic diversity and traditional knowledge' (14%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Climate-smart and sustainable agriculture' (27%) and 'Climate-resistant seeds and crops' (15%).
The updated NDC submission of Zambia contributes highly, among others, to SDG 6 'Clean Water and Sanitation' (17%) and SDG 13 'Climate Action' (17%). For SDG 6 contributions relate to Target '6.4 Increase water-use efficiency and sustainable withdrawal - reduce water scarcity' (50%) and Target '6.6 Protect and restore water-related ecosystems' (50%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Water allocation' (14%) and 'Water re-use' (14%). For SDG 13 contributions relate to Target '13.2 Integrate climate measures in national policy making' (50%) and Target '13.3 Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change issues' (50%). Here, climate actions are related to 'Early warning systems' (50%) and 'Mainstreaming' (50%).
