The first NDC submission of Zambia contributes the most to SDG 6 'Clean Water and Sanitation' (14%) and SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (14%). For SDG 6 the highest contributions relate to Target '6.4 Increase water-use efficiency and sustainable withdrawal - reduce water scarcity' (56%) and Target '6.6 Protect and restore water-related ecosystems' (33%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Water management' (20%) and 'Water allocation' (10%). For SDG 7 contributions relate to Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (70%) and Target '7.1 Access to affordable, reliable and modern energy for all' (30%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Bioenergy' (26%) and 'Access to energy' (16%).

The updated NDC submission of South Africa contributes the most to SDG 13 'Climate Action' (40%) and SDG 17 'Partnerships for the Goals' (20%). For SDG 13 the highest contributions relate to Target '13.1 Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related and natural disasters' (48%) and Target '13.2 Integrate climate measures in national policy making' (30%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Strengthened institutional capacity for adaptation' (26%) and 'Adaptive capacity enhancement' (21%). For SDG 17 the highest contributions relate to Target '17.2 Developed countries to fulfill ODA commitments' (21%) and Target '17.3 Mobilize additional financial resources for developing countries from multiple sources' (21%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Financial resource mobilization' (25%) and '(Need for) additional financial resources' (25%).
