The first NDC submission of Mauritius contributes the most to SDG 6 'Clean Water and Sanitation' (15%) and SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (15%). For SDG 6 some of the highest contributions relate to Target '6.4 Increase water-use efficiency and sustainable withdrawal - reduce water scarcity' (71%) and Target '6.3 Improve water quality, reduce pollution, increase recycling' (14%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Efficient use of water' (19%) and 'Irrigation improvement' (13%). For SDG 7 contributions relate to Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (60%) and Target '7.3 Double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency' (40%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Clean and renewable energy' (33%) and 'Energy efficiency' (22%).

The updated NDC submission of Mauritius contributes the most to SDG 13 'Climate Action' (33%) and SDG 14 'Life below Water' (29%). For SDG 13 the highest contributions relate to Target '13.1 Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related and natural disasters' (36%) and Target '13.3 Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change issues' (36%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Disaster and risk reduction' (42%) and 'Mainstreaming' (21%). For SDG 14 the highest contributions relate to Target '14.2 Protect and restore marine and coastal ecosystems' (37%) and Target '14.5 Conserve coastal and marine areas' (32%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Coastal management, conservation and rehabilitation' (35%) and 'Sustainable fishery management and fishing techniques' (24%).
