The first NDC submission of Burundi contributes the most to SDG 2 'No Hunger' (25%) and SDG 15 'Life on Land' (15%). For SDG 2 the highest contributions relate to Target '2.4 Ensure sustainable agricultural practices for reselience and resource protection' (60%) and Target '2.3 Increase agricultural productivity for small-scale producers' (20%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Food production' (16%) and 'Climate-smart and sustainable agriculture' (16%). For SDG 15 some of the highest contributions relate to Target '15.2 Promote sustainable forest management and expansion and halt deforestation' (67%) and Target '15.1 Conserve, restore and sustainbly use inland freshwater ecosystems' (11%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Afforestation' (20%) and 'Deforestation prevention' (20%).

The updated NDC submission of Burundi contributes the most to SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (35%) and SDG 2 'No Hunger' (24%). For SDG 7 the highest contributions relate to Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (78%) and Target '7.3 Double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency' (19%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Clean and renewable energy' (33%) and 'Power plants construction' (16%). For SDG 2 the highest contributions relate to Target '2.4 Ensure sustainable agricultural practices for reselience and resource protection' (50%) and Target '2.3 Increase agricultural productivity for small-scale producers' (35%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Increased agriculture productivity' (28%) and 'Improved livestock resilience' (20%).
