Cape Verde

The first NDC submission of Cape Verde contributes the most to SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (32%) and SDG 6 'Clean Water and Sanitation' (11%). For SDG 7 the highest contributions relate to Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (48%) and Target '7.3 Double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency' (36%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Energy efficiency' (22%) and 'Clean and renewable energy' (22%). For SDG 6 some of the highest contributions relate to Target '6.4 Increase water-use efficiency and sustainable withdrawal - reduce water scarcity' (50%) and Target '6.1 Universal and equitable access to drinking water' (17%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Water supply' (24%) and 'Irrigation improvement' (12%).

The updated NDC submission of Cape Verde contributes highly, among others, to SDG 11 'Sustainable Cities and Communities' (13%) and SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (12%). For SDG 11 the highest contributions relate to Target '11.2 Accessible and sustainable transport systems' (35%) and Target '11.6 Reduce environmental impact of cities (air quality, waste)' (30%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Waste management improvement' (24%) and 'Use of electric vehicles' (19%). For SDG 7 the highest contributions relate to Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (57%) and Target '7.3 Double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency' (33%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Clean and renewable energy' (29%) and 'Energy efficiency' (19%).
