The first NDC submission of Kiribati contributes highly, among others, to SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (35%) and SDG 13 'Climate Action' (11%). For SDG 7 the highest contributions relate to Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (51%) and Target '7.1 Access to affordable, reliable and modern energy for all' (32%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Access to energy' (24%) and 'Solar energy' (24%). For SDG 13 some of the highest contributions relate to Target '13.1 Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related and natural disasters' (40%) and Target '13.2 Integrate climate measures in national policy making' (30%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Adaptive capacity enhancement' (23%) and 'Mainstreaming' (23%).

The updated NDC submission of Kiribati contributes the most to SDG 17 'Partnerships for the Goals' (16%) and SDG 13 'Climate Action' (15%). For SDG 17 the highest contributions relate to Target '17.17 Encourage and promote effective public, public-private and civil society partnerships' (22%) and Target '17.3 Mobilize additional financial resources for developing countries from multiple sources' (17%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Partnership' (29%) and 'Policy Coordination' (21%). For SDG 13 the highest contributions relate to Target '13.1 Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related and natural disasters' (61%) and Target '13.3 Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change issues' (28%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Adaptive capacity enhancement' (35%) and 'Disaster and risk reduction' (24%).
