The first NDC submission of Egypt contributes the most to SDG 6 'Clean Water and Sanitation' (24%) and SDG 11 'Sustainable Cities and Communities' (14%). For SDG 6 the highest contributions relate to Target '6.4 Increase water-use efficiency and sustainable withdrawal - reduce water scarcity' (80%) and Target '6.3 Improve water quality, reduce pollution, increase recycling' (13%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Efficient use of water' (25%) and 'Water supply' (19%). For SDG 11 contributions relate to Target '11.2 Accessible and sustainable transport systems' (100%). Here, climate actions are related to 'Railway infrastructures development' (100%).

The updated NDC submission of Egypt contributes the most to SDG 11 'Sustainable Cities and Communities' (23%) and SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (17%). For SDG 11 the highest contributions relate to Target '11.2 Accessible and sustainable transport systems' (44%) and Target '11.6 Reduce environmental impact of cities (air quality, waste)' (25%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Waste management improvement' (31%) and 'Public transport access' (19%). For SDG 7 the highest contributions relate to Target '7.3 Double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency' (53%) and Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (35%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Energy efficiency' (21%) and 'Transition from fossil-fuels base energy' (14%).
