The first NDC submission of Iraq contributes the most to SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (20%) and SDG 9 'Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure' (16%). For SDG 7 contributions relate to Target '7.3 Double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency' (63%) and Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (37%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Energy efficiency' (31%) and 'Clean and renewable energy' (23%). For SDG 9 the highest contributions relate to Target '9.4 Upgrade infrastructure, increase resource efficiency and adopt clean technologies' (50%) and Target '9.1 Develop resilient and sustainable infrastructure with access for all' (33%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Infrastructures upgrade' (22%) and 'Resilient infrastructures' (17%).

The updated NDC submission of Iraq contributes to SDG 5 'Gender Equality' (100%). For SDG 5 contributions relate to Target '5.1 End discrimination against women' (100%). Here, climate actions are related to 'Protection of women from climate change risks' (50%) and 'Integration of gender considerations in policy design' (50%).
