The first NDC submission of Viet Nam contributes the most to SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (17%) and SDG 17 'Partnerships for the Goals' (16%). For SDG 7 the highest contributions relate to Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (50%) and Target '7.3 Double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency' (39%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Energy efficiency' (25%) and 'Clean and renewable energy' (25%). For SDG 17 the highest contributions relate to Target '17.6 Enhance global cooperation: technology, science and innovation' (38%) and Target '17.7 Promote development and diffusion of environmental sustainable technologies to developing countries' (21%). Here, the main climate actions are related to '(Need for) technology transfer' (31%) and 'Promotion of sustainable technologies' (21%).

The updated NDC submission of Viet Nam contributes the most to SDG 13 'Climate Action' (15%) and SDG 11 'Sustainable Cities and Communities' (12%). For SDG 13 the highest contributions relate to Target '13.3 Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change issues' (61%) and Target '13.1 Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related and natural disasters' (29%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Adaptive capacity enhancement' (22%) and 'Disaster and risk reduction' (22%). For SDG 11 the highest contributions relate to Target '11.5 Disaster risk management' (68%) and Target '11.2 Accessible and sustainable transport systems' (28%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Reduction of loss and damage from climate impacts' (59%) and 'Community-based development action' (12%).
