The first NDC submission of Mauritania contributes the most to SDG 11 'Sustainable Cities and Communities' (23%) and SDG 17 'Partnerships for the Goals' (23%). For SDG 11 some of the highest contributions relate to Target '11.5 Disaster risk management' (45%) and Target '11.1 Universal access to safe housing and basic services' (27%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Reduction of loss and damage from climate impacts' (45%) and 'Safe and adequate housing' (27%). For SDG 17 some of the highest contributions relate to Target '17.3 Mobilize additional financial resources for developing countries from multiple sources' (56%) and Target '17.6 Enhance global cooperation: technology, science and innovation' (22%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Financial resource mobilization' (56%) and 'Capacity building in developing countries' (22%).

The updated NDC submission of Mauritania contributes the most to SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (21%) and SDG 15 'Life on Land' (20%). For SDG 7 the highest contributions relate to Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (63%) and Target '7.3 Double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency' (25%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Clean and renewable energy' (23%) and 'Power plants construction' (14%). For SDG 15 the highest contributions relate to Target '15.3 Restore degraded land and combat desertification' (42%) and Target '15.2 Promote sustainable forest management and expansion and halt deforestation' (33%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of ecosystems' (31%) and 'Afforestation' (19%).
