Benin

The first NDC submission of Benin contributes the most to SDG 13 'Climate Action' (23%) and SDG 15 'Life on Land' (20%). For SDG 13 the highest contributions relate to Target '13.3 Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change issues' (58%) and Target '13.2 Integrate climate measures in national policy making' (24%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Awareness-raising on climate change impacts' (22%) and 'Adaptive capacity enhancement' (20%). For SDG 15 the highest contributions relate to Target '15.2 Promote sustainable forest management and expansion and halt deforestation' (61%) and Target '15.5 Halt loss of habitat and biodiversity, and prevent species extinction' (21%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Forest management' (40%) and 'Biodiversity protection' (17%).
